Geographical position of the Port

The river Danube, that runs through 10 European countries, is one of the greatest inland waterway in the World. In 1992, the canal Rhine - Maine – Danube, that is 3.505 km long, was finished and it was the new trans-European navigable way, connecting The North and The Black Sea through two river confluences, making that way a spine of the European inland navigation system.In the area of these corridors, the water area of "The Danube Port" Pancevo is situated on 21 hectare on the 1153 km, on the left bank of the river Danube, 20 km from Belgrade, Serbian economic and market capital.
The position of Serbia is significant because of The Pan European corridors, VII for the inland navigation and X for railway and road communications, that runs trough this area.

The Danube Port complex, occupies cca. 240 hectares, bounded by rivers Danube and Tamis, international road E-70, shunting yard and navigable canal "HIP" Pancevo. It is right location for recieving, processing and distribution of vast volume of cargo. It's opened for world's market and very significant node in cargo trade in Serbia. Building of highway section and recent building of the second rail tracks between Belgrade and Pancevo, gives new possibilities of economic development for these two cities.

Pan European multimodal communication corridors are made by magistral directions of international importance and multimodal terminals as connecting nodes of different means of transport. It is the base for creation of unique communication infrastructure in the whole European region and the base for the development projects.

With finishing of first phase of building, The Danube Port, regarding to the existing infrastructure and equipment,  is on the top of the list compared with other inland ports in the country. It has provided intensitive development of all functions of modern concept of cargo-transport center, which includes logistic center with accent on multimodal system.
